National Relaxation Day

I read on the internet that today is National Relaxation Day.  Shouldn't that be a national holiday so we can all take the day off to take a nap, read a book, drink a tall glass of iced tea?  Ah, wouldn't that be nice.

The way things have been going around here, I could use a day of rest and relaxation.  How about you?  We get so busy, especially in the Summer in the Northwest, that we go and go, trying to take in everything we can in our short-lived Summer.

I think God is trying to tell my hubby to slow down a bit, as he is dealing with kidney stones, again.  However, his work schedule is the busiest it has been in a long time, not to mention our personal schedule.

We can get so busy running, that we forget to take time to just slow down and rest.  When even God took a day of rest, I think we as human beings definitely need to take a day to rest, relax, enjoy relationships, and unplug from technology.  Summer is dwindling down.  Remember to take some time to relax and enjoy some sweet moments with your loved ones.  Make some great memories.  Go swimming.  Go for a leisurely walk.  Enjoy a sunset. Play.  Go fishing.  Enjoy a picnic.  Laugh.  Sit on your patio or porch and just relax.

Attacked By An Angry Mob on My Front Porch

There hasn't been much of a daytime view from my front porch lately.  Last time I spent more than a minute running from the front door to the car, I was swarmed by an angry mob of yellow jackets and stung three times in my leg.  The mob has built a deep nest, under our cement slab, and we cannot get to the nest to spray these little villains.  I feel as if I am under attack and cannot leave my house.  Many of my neighbors feel the same as we have all been viciously and maliciously attacked the past week by numerous yellow jackets, hornets, and wasps.  They are a very aggressive bunch this year.

My hubby and I did spend some time on the front porch one evening at 10:30.  It was quiet, the bees were in bed, so we enjoyed the cool air and gazing at the stars.  Summer sure is flying by.  Enjoy it,  just watch out for those little striped angry mobs that sneak up, attack, and leave their mark.
