What Are You Waiting For?

Frustration with your performance, the people you serve or the process needed to complete the task set before you will never be an acceptable excuse for direct or indirect disobedience to God's call in your life. ~Katherine Walden

When I read that quote first thing this morning all I thought was ouch! I've been there, and struggled with that, have you? I know it's not what God wants, however. It can be difficult to move past those frustrations when we keep our eyes focused on us, and we ask but what about me? Why didn't they notice what I did? How can they not see how much time I invested? Why isn't my project, my ministry being successful? Why?? Because it's all about me. If we put God at the center of our serving, our projects, our ministry then we take our eyes off ourselves. We look to Him, and follow His lead. We don't worry about the approval and applause of others, we just strive to be all that God wants us to be.

God wants us to step out for what He is calling us to do and to not be afraid, to not worry about what others will think or do. He wants our heart, our obedience. We may think we are not able to do what He is calling us to, because we don't have enough training, we aren't educated, we are scared, but if God is calling us, He's going to help us out and not let us fail. Jesus called Peter to walk on the water, and Peter was successful. Peter only fell when he took his eyes off Jesus, but Jesus was right there with a loving hand to help him up.

We are called to step out in faith, to trust Christ, and accomplish what His calling is for us. The only question is are you willing to be faithful and obedient?

Walk on Water by Britt Nicole
You look around
It's staring back at you
Another wave of doubt
Will it pull you under
You wonder

What if I'm overtaken?
What if I never make it?
What if no one's there?
Will you hear my prayer?

When you take that first step
Into the unknown
You know that He won't let you go

So what are you waiting for?
What do you have to lose?
Your insecurities try to alter you
You know you're made for more
So don't be afraid to move
Your faith is all
It takes in you
You can walk on the water too

So get out
and let your fear fall to the ground
No time to waste
Don't wait
Don't you turn around and miss out
Everything you were made for
I know you're not sure
So you play it safe
Try to run away

If you take that first step
Into the unknown
He won't let you go

So what are you waiting for?
What do you have to lose?
Your insecurities try to alter you
You know you're made for more
So don't be afraid to move
Your faith is all
It takes in you
You can walk on the water too

(Step Out)
Even when a storm hits
(Step Out)
Even when you're broken
(Step Out)
Even when your heart is telling you, telling you to give up
(Step Out)
When your hope is stolen
(Step Out)
You can't see where you're going
You don't have to be afraid

So what are you waiting for?

So what are you waiting for?
What do you have to lose?
Your insecurities try to alter you
You know you're made for more
So don't be afraid to move
Your faith is all
It takes in you
You can walk on the water too

Hi-I was directed to your website after searching for a song. Crazy thing is that the song you posted on your blog today was featured on the TV show "Biggest Loser" on NBC tonight! Thanks for the lyrics and the artist's name. What an amazing song!

That is a great quote. And miss LLLH, thank you for stepping into the same boat as me as we set sail for those orphans in Uganda! You are a gifted photographer and I am blessed to have you aboard.

Blessings.
