Trust

My heart has been in upheaval over a few things lately. For one, my husband has been gone a lot with training for his new job. I don't like when my hubby is away. He is my other half, the way God intended us. Actually, he's not my other half. We are both whole, and when we are whole together, standing side by side through life is when we are the strongest, the way God intended.

As a believer in God's word, I can't say I'm too thrilled about the changing of the guard in this country, as I think of what the next four years could look like, and pray to God that somewhere along the line, morality will return to our country. I think of unborn children and partial birth abortion, I think of how God set things up to protect us and we as a country have walked away from His ways. I wonder how long until people yearn for HIM as Savior as their hearts are designed to, not for a person to be their savior, whether it be a president or some hollywoodite. What if people got excited about God and His love for us, the way they get enamored over a person who does nothing for us? Ask yourself this: what has Oprah or George Clooney ever done for you personally?? God sent His son to die for you and your sins; kind of hard to get anywhere near that type of love, isn't it? God set in our hearts the need, the yearning, the desire for Him. We all have a God shaped hole in us, just most fill it with false idols, false gods. To truly know God and His love is something irreplaceable and indescribable. I know that 'religion' has done a lot of things that have tarnished the name of Christ, but that isn't who He really is, He is love and He loves us and wants us to know Him and His word, and to truly rely on what He can do for us. Take some time to explore the true Jesus!

I also know a lot of people going through a lot of yuck in life right now, whether it's a health issue, family stuff, finances or lay offs, deaths of loved ones and it can be overwhelming if we don't keep it in perspective and rely on Jesus to help us through the tough times. He's always there, waiting for us to come to Him.

I found this quote in my journal by Roy Lessin. It seems appropriate for me at this time.

Waiting times are growing times and learning times. As you quiet your heart, you enter His peace...as you sense your weakness, you receive His strength...as you lay down your will, you hear His calling.

It's not about me, and my wants and desires. It's about learning to trust in God, to lean on Him, to quiet my heart and let Him fill me with His peace and strength, knowing He will protect me, even though that may not always look like what I want it to look like, or be in MY timing.

"For I know the plans I have for you,: declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:18-20

Amen. Once again our hearts and souls are in the same place--leaning on God for His direction. His protection.

Blessings,
A Simple Country Girl

I'm sorry to hear that you are missing your husband.

It's comforting to me to know that so many other followers of God and His word are rejoicing in this positive direction for our country! The last 8 years have surely seen this country wandering far from God's path.

I look to the beginning of the end of oppressions and aggression and killings and torture. To an end of worshipping guns and war. To an end of ignoring stewardship of our own health and our earth and environment. To an end of immoral greed and consumption and fiscal irresponsibility.

I also believe that the decision to take an unborn child's life lies not with our leaders, but with each mother that makes that choice. I pray that we all will help THEM to make a difference, rather than put the blame on politicians.

God Bless America!

David what bible do you read that stands for killing babies and for believing in what the liberal side of the world believes in? Yes, the country has wandered far from God's path but not because of the former President. It's wandered far from God's path because of liberalism and no truth.
David, I find it funny that you say you look to the beginning of the end of killings and torture, yet you are for abortion-what a curious statement! Abortion kills babies who never get a chance to be born.
It's not the govt's responsibility to take care of you, either. You can move to a socialistic country if you want that, but leave this country a democracy. Most of the problems with health care and the environment is that people don't want to take care of things themselves but want a gov't fix for everything. Be responsible and take care of yourself and your world. In your own words, David, don't blame a politician!
War is not pretty. No, it's not. But sometimes it's necessary. I believe, David, that you should thank a soldier for the rights and freedoms you have to bash our government because in most countries, you would be put to death for that, but here, a soldier died so you have that right.
If you got any of your thoughts and comments out of what was written by live love laugh hope, you must have read something different than I did because what I read was a cry to God for help and protection and a call for morality to come back to our country.

Frank - Oh dear... where on earth did you see that I wrote that I'm for abortion? I said we need to help the mothers that are choosing this (to make the choice NOT to have an abortion). This as opposed to blaming politicians.

I whole-heartedly agree with folks taking responsibility for themselves and the environment... that's what I said, so I'm glad we agree... but, I'll have to say, did you actually read what I wrote?

Brave

I read this this morning. Great reminder as we head into a new year. You have been equipped by God to endure this life.  He has bui...
