With all the chaos going on in our country and world-wars, elections, banking issues, food and gas prices, and on and on, it's easy to get overwhelmed with worry and stress and thinking about the 'what if's.' So I just thought I would include a few thoughts and encourage those reading to not be bogged down by the stress, but to pray about it and know that no matter what God is still in control and He has a plan. We may not see what that plan is right away; as a matter of fact, it may be years down the road until we understand or see why things happened, but there is a reason. Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.
Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight. ~Benjamin Franklin
Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. Matthew 6:34
"Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles. It empties today of its strength."
So, today, find joy instead of worry. Enjoy the blessings in your life and focus on a day filled with joy. Challenge yourself to do acts of kindness to those around you-smile, let someone go ahead of you in line or take that close parking stall, speak kind words, say thank you, open a door for someone, help out a neighbor, rake leaves for someone, visit an elderly person and see how you can help them out, volunteer in your church or community, help out a single parent. Whatever you do today, give. It feels good, and it takes your mind off your worries!!

How right you are...worry is indeed a waste of time. But what do we do about all that "wondering" taking up time & space in our heads?
- wonder why people aren't held accountable for overextending themselves
- wonder why people spend a dollar when they don't have a dollar
- wonder why more people don't value human life
- wonder why the media is so liberal
- wonder why the dollar is mightier than our Almighty God in the eyes of the above...
Just wonderin'...
I agree with the wondering and it makes me upset, too. I agree with each of your statements! I know God will handle it, even though it's hard to see it at times. I wonder why certain candidates are made fun of on a continual basis as well, while others are lifted right next to God.
I was just hoping to lighten up a few hearts today because I know a lot of worry is surrounding us, and rightfully so, but we can't be consumed by it, either.
I've written about the "what ifs" in the past yet I keep falling into them. I logged on to my laptop to read more about the financial problems and started worrying about our mortgage. I quickly thought lets read blogs and yours was the first one. Thank you for your words today.
totally agree with your post. thanks for the encouragement today.
